Experience the Deep Relaxation and healing effects of Bowen Therapy in Minnesota
Founded by Tom Bowen, in Australia in the 1950's, the Bowen Technique is now practiced world wide. Tom Bowen considered his ability to heal others as a "gift from God." Allegedly, he treated over 13,000 people a year, often for free, with an 80% success rate.
The Beauty of Bowen Therapy is that it works in harmony with the body's own internal nature. it has both physical and energetic effects on the system - many moves are performed along meridian pathways - bringing harmony and balance to the body and allowing it to effectively heal in its own way, in its own time, without intrusive, forceful manipulation of soft tissue and muscle. The Bowen moves are gentle, using mainly fingers and thumbs in rolling motion, with pauses in between moves to allow the brain to assimilate and identify where the imbalance lies.
It's hard to imagine that such simple, gentle moves can have a profound effect on wellbeing, but Bowen Therapy has been known to help bring relief to pain from injuries in the musculoskeletal system, digestive issues, IBS, TMJ, relief to symptoms of menopause, respiratory issues, emotional imbalances and much more. For most, it brings on a profound sense of deep relaxation, which in itself can allow the body to heal itself, because most people can never find the time or place to just completely relax.
The Bowen moves work with the fascia of the body which connects nerves and muscles and unblocks the flow of motor impulses and thus releases tension and spasms held in various parts of the body that cause pain and other health problems.
Sessions often last from 1/2 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes, where the client lies on a massage table, and sometimes sits on a chair for certain procedures. Clients either wear comfortable, non-restricting, light weight clothing, or wear just underwear with most skin bare, in which case there is draping with a sheet to allow for comfort and privacy during the session.
